Hand Taiyin Lung Channel
Hand Taiyin Lung Channel
Channels
Primary Channel
Internal Pathway
Connects with the Large Intestine
Penetrates the Lungs
External Pathway
Starts at LU-1 at the deltopectoral triangle
Descends along the anterolateral arm and forearm lateral to the Heart and Pericardium channels
Traverses the thenar eminence to the radial side of the tip of the fingernail at LU-11
Luo-connecting Channel
Seperates from the primary channel at LU-7
Follows the LU channel and spread in the thenar eminence
Connects with the internally-externally related LI channel
Divergent Channel
Diverges from the primary channel at the axilla
Passes anterior to the Heart channel in the chest
Connects with the Lung disperses in the Large Intestine (strengthens the relationships of these organs)
A branch ascends from the Lung, emerges at the supraclavicular fossa, ascends across the throat and converges with the Large Intestine channel.
Dr. Lau suggested this connected with the anterior scalenes
Sinew Channel
Originates on the thumb at Shaoshang LU-11 and ascends to bind at the thenar eminence,
Ascends the flexor aspect of the forearm to bind at the centre of the elbow
Continues along the antero-lateral aspect of the upper arm to enter the chest below the axilla
Dr Lau suggested that this included the bicep brachii short head connecting to the pectoralis minor
Emerges in the region of Quepen ST-12 and travels laterally to the shoulder, anterior to L.I.-15
Returns to the supraclavicular (Quepen ST-12) region and descends into the chest
Dr. Lau suggested that this involved the intercostal muscles
Spreads over the diaphragm and converges in the region of the floating ribs.
Discussion
The LU is externnally-internally related to the LI (yin/yang - both metal)
THe LU is paired with the SP according to six channel therory (both Taiyin)
Etc.
